Skryne pupils lead the way at Leinster orientation event



Skryne NS was certainly front and center at Santry Demesne last Wednesday where many primary school pupils enjoyed their first school outing in nearly two years and took part in a Leinster Schools Score orientation event.

Skryne NS continued their strong record taking most of the podium places, including first place in the Girls Sixth Class event where Emily Philips finished first with 460 points and Hannah Swan finished second, just 50 points behind .



There was also success for Skryne in the Girls Fifth Class event with Katie Martin winning with 490 points and Grace Connolly second with 470. Chloe Armstrong completed the podium for Skryne NS finishing third with 380 points.

The top three places in the Fifth Class Boys race were taken by students from Skryne NS, Jimmy Shorten, Michael Dennehy and Louis Crawley taking first, second and third place respectively.

In the Sixth Class boys race, Niall Smyth was beaten to the post for first place by Zach Hilliard and Jarlath MacNamara of The Burrow School, while Finn Naughton of Skryne finished third.



The next Leinster Schools Orientation event will be held at Cabinteely Park on January 26, 2022.
