“Hey-Ey-Sundae!” -Buffalo Rising

Greg Moyer holds two frosted jars of “Hey-Ey-Sundae!”

What do you do when you get two pots of “Hey-Ey-Sundae!” dropped off at your doorstep? You give them to one of the biggest Bills fans and ice cream fans you know. In the case of delivering Perry’s Ice Cream, I figured my best bet would be delivering them to my neighbors, Greg Moyer and Melissa Allen, founders of Leftern Gameday Series.

I already knew that Greg was a die-hard Bills fan. So when I inquired about his level of passion for ice cream, he told me he was an excellent candidate to test the new flavor of Perry’s Ice Cream dedicated to the Buffalo Bills (named after the rah-rah chant fan favorite – the prolific shout/fight chant). So I passed the mirror and waited for his response.

Melissa Allen tests the ice cream

“The silky nougat ice cream with salted caramel swirls was like watching the Bills drive surgically down the field,” he poetically states. “It gave you confidence, but there is a lingering fear of a rough turnover at any time. Alas, you find the brownie batter bits in the corner of the end zone raising their doughy hands, and it’s a touchdown. All together, it lets you say Hey-hey-hey-hey!”

There you have it, straight from the mouth of a self-proclaimed ice cream aficionado and the Buffalo Bills.

Hey-Ey-Sundae! is the fourth co-branded flavor created by this partnership, following Brownie Blitz (2008), Rockpile to the Ralph (2009, Bills 50th anniversary flavor) and Sundae at the Ralph (2016).

“Hey-Ey-Sundae! celebrates our home team and honors the tradition of the fan-favorite Brownie Blitz,” said Perry Chairman and CEO Robert Denning. “While the brownie batter bits are still included, we’ve given this flavor a new spin, with a nougat base and salted caramel swirls for a salty-sweet indulgence on game day (or any game day). ).

A portion of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to Buffalo Bills Foundationwhich is dedicated to preventing childhood hunger, improving families’ access to nutritious food, and promoting healthy eating in the Western New York area.

“Perry’s Ice Cream has been a valued partner of the Bills for more than 25 years,” added Dan Misko, senior vice president of business development for Buffalo Bills. “Perry’s is constantly working to create flavors that connect our fans in unique and delicious ways, benefiting our community in the process. We are proud to have Perry’s as the official ice cream of the Buffalo Bills.

Perry’s donated an additional $5,000 to the Buffalo Bills Foundation on Giving Tuesday.

“Supporting our community in partnership with Perry’s Ice Cream is the perfect way to celebrate Giving Tuesday,” said Buffalo Bills Foundation CEO Michelle Roberts. “Hey-Ey-Sundae! is a true representation of our “city of good neighbours,” helping to advance the work of the Bills Foundation every time it is enjoyed. We are so excited to launch this flavor and to help our community at the same time.

Perry’s is a fourth generation family business with over a century dedicated to its craft.

“We are extremely proud to support the Buffalo Bills Foundation,” added Denning. “As we enter the holidays and winter months, preventing hunger and child nutrition becomes even more challenging, and we are honored to partner with the Buffalo Bills Foundation to make a difference in our hometown. .”

The new flavor is available in 1.5 liter cartons at retailers in Western New York, Central New York and Erie. Pennsylvania, including most Tops Markets, Wegmans, Dash’s, Shurfine and Country Fair locations. It will also be available at participating Perry’s stores in these regions.
