Belleville Sea Cadet Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Scholarship Recipient:

The Navy League of Belleville is proud to announce that Isabel Coupland is the recipient of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Each year, the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Education Foundation awards scholarships to deserving cadets pursuing post-secondary education. Isabel is one of eighty winners nationally this year. Isabel has previously received the Navy League Ontario Division Medal of Excellence for her outstanding career as a Belleville Sea Cadet. Rising through the ranks to the PO1 level, she was truly a leader at the Belleville Sea Cadet Corps. A well-rounded youngster, she excelled as a musician playing the alto saxophone and was selected to be a member of the Prince Edward County Youth Jazz Ensemble. She was part of our marksmanship, orientation and exercise teams. On Saturday afternoons, she was often found in the “kitchen” preparing lunch for the other members of the group. She is currently studying kinesiology at Queen’s University.

The Belleville Sea Cadet Corps, supported by the Belleville Branch of the Navy League of Canada, meets Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in our building at 16 Front Street South in Belleville. The program is a free program open to young people between the ages of 12 and 18. For more information, see our website at or call 613 962-4647.
